Pumpkins into Jack-O-Lanterns

Last weekend, Sadie asked Gabe if we could, "turn a pumpkin into a Jack-o-lantern?" Of course he couldn't resist and said, "Sure!" After naps, Gabe decided to make it happen. He followed all of the steps that Sadie said we needed to do including cooking the pumpkin seeds so she could eat them. (They were quite tasty too!) Ms. Georgia at her school had carved a pumpkin for them earlier in the week and she loved it. The girls were really cute trying to help Daddy. I just stood in the background and took a few pictures.

Sitting at the table drawing the face on the pumpkin while drinking hot chocolate.

Claire "helped" too by adding in super sound effects.

Halloween!!

Minnie Mouse, Repunzel, and Waldo.... sounds like a Gillespie Halloween to me.

We have had a fun Halloween weekend so far with another Halloween party on Monday for the girls. I really hope the costumes last that long! We started out Friday night going to the Fall Festival at Gabe's school. The girls had a great time as Minnie Mouse and Repunzel. Sadie told us last week that she HAD to have long hair and I went out searching for a Repunzel wig for her and couldn't find one anywhere. I had tried to avoid it because I knew it would be a little difficult for her to manage. I ended up calling my parents who found the last one at their Target and priority shipped it so she would have it for her costume. Well, I got her hair nice and slicked back with gel and hairspray (thanks for the tips Rhonda), got the wig on, and right before we left she tells me that she doesn't want the long hair! "Mama, I don't need long hair anymore." Seriously! So off we went with slicked back hair and the wig in the front seat!

Anyway, the girls had a great time and came home with way too much candy. Even for me and I like candy. We are well stocked for a long, long time.

Did I mention that Claire knows how to play the cute card and get just a little attention.

Halloween Fun!

So I debated about even posting pictures since it shows the messy house in the background, but then I figured, oh well, that's our life right now so why not? We had a fun Halloween and went Trunk or Treating. Here are a few pictures. Claire was a cute pumpkin and Sadie loved her Minnie Mouse dress. I think she would wear it 24/7 if she could. This was her first year to really pick a costume and wear it so it was really fun. She had fun handing out candy after she was finished walking around. She LOVED seeing all the candy that was available, we had to limit it quickly. Claire was just as sweet as ever and smiled and pointed to everyone.

Here they are before we left.

And there goes Claire. One picture. That really is about all I get before she takes off. Sadie is about to say, "BABY!!!!!"

Eyeing the candy!

This was pretty much her post. She was very generous though and loved giving it out to the other kids. She just always wanted to have some too. Imagine that!

Halloween 2009

For Halloween this year, we went to a trunk or treat again. It was such a great way for Sadie to trick or treat and she had a lot of fun. She figured it out after about 3 trunks and had no problem running up to the trunks and saying, "Treat!, Treat!" "Tank, Two" (Thank you). Anyway, Lincoln met us there again this year and they took off. Sadie was a cheerleader- mostly because we had the outfit and it was easy. I know that will only work while she is little. We'll see about next year!

Here they are...getting some treats.

And enjoying the loot. She woke up this morning asking for treats. They have now been emptied out of the pumpkin and are hidden.

Halloween

For Halloween we went to a Trunk or Treat. Sadie was a pumpkin. I thought she was super cute. We went with Rachel, Kris, and Lincoln and had a great time. Sadie and Lincoln enjoyed being in the wagon. Lincoln loved taking the candy out of one bag and putting it into the other. He would also try to give the candy from his bag to the people instead of taking it from them. What a sweet boy! Sadie had fun too. She hung on to her M&M’s and didn‘t want to let go. The Trunk or Treat was a great way for us to enjoy Halloween, but it wasn’t too much. Enjoy our pictures.

Happy Halloween!

Tarzan and the Pumpkin! Too cute!

Here's Sadie. Enjoying the ride.
