Circus Time!

The day had finally arrived. We had been talking to Sadie about going to the circus for a couple weeks and she was so excited that today was the day. All day she was saying, "It's circus time? It's circus time?" After a short nap (she couldn't sleep) we were off. Sadie just sat and watched basically the whole time except for a few questions like, "Can I have a toy?" At intermission, Gabe bought her a toy and she was so excited. Claire had a great time too. She would watch for a couple minutes, clap and point, and then want down. Luckily there was no one else on our row. We had two tired little girls when it was over. We were blessed to have tickets given to us by some friends. Thanks Freddy and Elizabeth, we had a great time!

A couple pictures from the show.

And Sadie with her toy. It spins, lights up, and is pink. What else could you ask for?

A Big Thank you

Before we get too far into summer, I wanted to say a Big Thank You to the teachers at the YWCA who have taken care of Claire for the past year and a half. She started there when she was 9 weeks old and it was a sad Friday last week when she had her last day. The ladies there were so wonderful to her and showed her so much love. Claire stayed in the same room the whole time she was there and I was so grateful she was able to. She was the oldest by a few months by the time she left, but her teachers loved her so much they let her stay. They were so great to work on sign language with her once they saw her doing it. She also has develped a love for babies. Since she was the oldest she has watched little babies being taken care of for a while and has learned to be so sweet with them. She will go get her baby at home and will bring us a blanket to wrap it up in. Then she feeds it a bottle and will even turn it over and burp it when she is done. On her last day, her teachers bought her a big pink ball and they all signed it. We appreciate them so much and are so thankful for the good care they took or Claire and the love they showed her.

Summer project #2

I'm not sure if everyone would consider this a project, but I decided to for the sake of a blog title. Last week we got a package from Nana and inside was this great inflatable swimming pool with two slides. The girls didn't know what it was since it was all folded up in the box, but were very excited just the same. Gabe decided to gather up all the extra air he had today and blow it up. We tried to use an air pump, but didn't have the nozzle. Once we had gotten it out of the box, there was no turning back. Two little girls wanted a swimming pool. They watched him blow and blow and blow. The girls had a great time playing. Claire is still not quite sure of the water so she stood on the side and played, but Sadie quickly figured out the slide.

Taking a break for a quick drink. Thinking about what the next project for Daddy will be.

Our Weekend Project!

Summer has begun and we are excited! We even completed our first summer project today! Actually, Gabe put it together and I "documented" for the blog. The girls love to be outside and we saw this cute picnic table at World Market that we could not pass up. It was completed right about lunch time today so lunch and dinner were both eaten outside. Sadie even woke up from her nap saying she needed some food to eat at the picnic table. We'll see what other projects we get done... we're off to a good start.

Here's Sadie, posing with the completed table.

When we first started, they were very excited to watch.

As you can see Sadie quickly became bored and Claire found a water bottle to play with.

Inspecting the work.

"Helping" Daddy. Really she was just asking if he was done yet.

Yea! Finally! (It really only took about an hour to put together :)

Enjoying some lunch.

Ok really, Isn't that just too cute?

Easter pictures

Here are a few the pictures we attempted to take on Easter. Trying to get some of the girls after lunch did not prove to be a good idea. It was great to have Nana and Big Daddy here for the week and to celebrate Easter with them.

They are both sitting down and looking in the general direction of the camera. I call that a success.

This one was taken before church. Much better idea.

Claire with her Texas size bow. It only lasted a few seconds, but at least I got a picture.

And my favorite from the weekend. Claire loves her Big Daddy! No denying she's a Gillespie :)

Spring time!

Warmer weather means that the Gillespies are outside and burning some energy. We are loving our warm weather and Gabe is getting year 3 of our garden going. Somehow it has expanded every year, but I can't complain. He grows some great veggies. Summer is two weeks away which is another reason there is lots of excitement around our house. We are looking forward to some good family time and a lot more playing outside!

Nana sent a great water toy for the girls. They love it!

The Gillespie Garden- Year 3. These pictures are already outdated. Tiny sqash plants have already come up in the back and we have tiny tomatoes in the front.

Happy Mother's Day!

What a great Mother's Day! I have an awesome family that loves me more than I can believe. I love hearing Sadie say, "Mama, I love you." Sometimes I think she says it when she doesn't have anything else to say because she will say, "Mama?" I say, "Yes" and she pauses and says, "I love you!" Doesn't bother me. I love coming home from work or coming in after being gone and the girls run to me saying, "Mama!" I love their hugs and kisses! I also recognize that our family is as awesome as it is because of my wonderful husband. He really keeps us going. It can get crazy around our house these days with everything we have going on, but he keeps our focus where it needs to be. He did a great job with Mother's day too!

I woke up to flowers on the table and a breakfast casserole. (of course with bacon, which is probably my favorite food.) Sunday is my morning to sleep in (8:00) so that was in his favor too. After church we had a nice lunch and after naps we headed to the store to continue our tradition of planting flowers on Mother's Day. We got enough to plant some around our tree in the backyard and everyone joined in. Each in there own way of course. It was in the 90's today so the girls played in the water for a little while. (That's why they are in swimming suits)

Sadie started out helping to plant the flowers.

And quickly decided she liked holding them for Daddy instead. She said, "Mama, Mama, I can not plant the flowers. I can not get my hands dirty." Such a little girl!

Claire on the other hand was all about the dirt!

And the finished flowers! I just love our little family!
