Happy, Happy Birthday to a great Daddy! Today was Gabe's birthday and we tried to make it really special. Sadie has been super excited about planning a party for him. She is so into birthdays. We went yesterday and picked out some plates and we had to get party hats to match. Of course, everything is pink. I told her it was going to be a surprise so we hid them in a drawer in her room. As soon as Gabe walked in from running yesterday, Sadie said, "Daddy, do you want to see what I got you?" ( She doesn't quite understand the whole secret, surprise thing.)
Anyway, Jenny brought over some yummy cake balls that we had after dinner for our, "party." Sadie said we all had to wear our party hats and she decorated the table. I found some candles that worked out perfectly and we had a fun little party. She directed the whole thing from the candles, passing out the plates, and the singing. Sadie kept saying, "Happy Dirthday Dad" and Claire would get excited with her party hat too. At the end, Sadie said, "Daddy, this is the best dirthday party ever!" I have to agree.
To the best daddy ever,
Thanks for being such a trooper and enjoying your super pink birthday party. You are such a great husband and father and I'm so grateful for you. Hope you had a good day and enjoyed your birthday.
Love,
The girls

The perfect class
So Sadie has decided that she likes to play, "I be the teacher, you be the class" in her room. Otherwise known as, "school" to most of us. Anyway, she loves being her teacher, Miss Diane. She will sit in her rocking chair, cross her legs, and drink her "coffee". She talks in a squeaky high voice (which her teacher does not) and says, "We're going to read a book now" or "We're going to go to centers now." She then will tell her class where they need to go. The second picture is her, "class." Claire is not always the most compliant or eager as you can tell from the picture. Sadie will say, "Chair, sit down." or "No, Chair." Pooh and Minnie Mouse seem to be the ideal students. It is fun to watch and fun to see them playing together.
