Snow Day!

The weather here has been colder and snowier (not sure if that is a word) than usual this year. Thursday morning it started raining and by about noon we had ice and snow. Schools were dismissing early and the weather men were loving it. School was cancelled for Friday so we enjoyed a nice family snow day. The bad thing is I was off of work anyway so now I'll have to work the make up day. Oh well, it was nice to have everyone home. I took a few pictures from our snow day.

I love these pictures of Claire in her little hat.

Here is our house. I love the tree.

Sadie spent the day writing, coloring, playing, and watching Mickey Mouse. We all had a little cabin fever by the end.

Gabe loved his day off.

What a weekend...

I just wanted to post a few pictures of our happy children. It makes me feel better after the crazy weekend we had. I had to take Sadie to the urgent care clinic Friday night-double ear infection. The doctor said we needed to keep the girls separated for at least 24 hours. Gabe tried to distract Sadie on Saturday while I fed Claire. It usually ended up in a tantrum. I think I was rushing Claire to eat so that Sadie would stop screaming which made her spit up. We ended up ordering pizza for dinner, letting Sadie eat in front of the TV, and everyone went to bed early. I did manage to get some happy pictures today so we are feeling much better.

Happy Sadie-very rare this weekend.

Claire staring at her lion.

Sadie loves whip cream. She got to eat it after she finally ate a good dinner. Joys of a 2 year old.

I love these pictures. Claire loves to arch her back like this and stare at you. She only does it when she is swaddled right before we lay her down. Check out those profiles.

One month!

Well, we have made it through one month with 2 children and I have to say it hasn't been as difficult as I thought it would be. Claire has been so great. It's amazing to me how she just is a part of our family. Not sure if that makes sense, but it's hard to think of our family before her and it's only been a month. I took pictures of Sadie at each month, but I wasn't blogging at the time so I didn't post them anywhere. We made a card with all of them for her first birthday. I thought that I would share both of their pictures at each month on the blog so that Sadie's get posted and it's fun to look back and see both of them at the same age. So...this is my plan, we will see if I can keep it up!

P.S.-I can't take credit for the idea of taking the pictures. Thanks Kim and Emily. I'm not sure who's idea it was, but I think it's great!

Sleeping like a baby

Just a couple of pictures of Claire doing what she does best these days...sleeping. Isn't she sweet?

I guess she's already tired of pictures :)

What were we thinking?

So we had thought about getting Sadie some play food. When we were at Target today, they had a set on clearance for $5 so we thought, "What a great deal, Sadie will love it!" When we got it home and started to get it out of the package, we realized it was 95 pieces of play food. 95 pieces!! What were we thinking! It has just about everything you could think of and then some. There are some pieces that will probably "disappear" like the individual french fries. It definitely filled up her shopping cart.

We had a request from the Grandparents (Nana, Big Daddy, Grandma, and Grandpa) for some more pictures of the girls so here are a few we have taken the last couple days. Nothing too new to report. Just doing the baby thing and kissing those cute cheeks as much as I can! Sadie asks for one of her grandparents just about everyday. We miss you and are so grateful for the good care you took of all of us while you were visiting.

Those cheeks are irresitable.

And those too!

Sadie was sharing her toys and her ice (really it's a teething ring.) She would ask Claire if she needed ice, then say "Ok" and try to put it on her head.

Here is Sadie enjoying a left over cookie from a baby shower Sunday. Gotta love her hair.

This week with Claire...

Claire has been such a great baby this week. She seems to be getting into a routine somewhat. She is doing well eating and appears to be gaining weight so we are glad about that. She had some issues with painful burps and reflux last week, but that seems to be better this week too which is making feeding a lot easier. We think she smiled once at Gabe, he says she did, but I havn't seen it yet. We have had some good laughs this week with Claire and her sneezing. She will need to sneeze and will try, but she doesn't and then she lets out a big sigh. It is so cute. Much cuter in person than I am describing. It makes me laugh everyday. We are loving everyday with both girls and they are fun to watch together. Sadie is adjusting well and loves her sister. She wants to help with her all the time and is a lot more into baby dolls now than she was 3 weeks ago :)
Gabe likes her mohawk after her bath.

Sweet sisters

Sweet dreams.

Sadie thinks is always wanting blankets for her baby and had collected quite a few.

Happy New Year!!!

It's amazing how much our new years plans have changed in two three years. Three years ago we were doing youth group lock-ins for new years and sleeping away most of new year's day. Now we are starting our new year's celebration at 5PM and ending it about 8:30 and we are up and going by about 7:30 the next day. This year, Chris and Rachel and Lincoln came over. Sadie and Lincoln had a lot of fun playing and the adults had a lot of fun eating snack foods and hanging out. It was great to have some real girl conversation with Rachel after two weeks of what feels like constant feeding, changing, and burping. I'm really trying to enjoy these times because I know that they will be gone soon. Anyway, back to New Years. Gabe and Rachel cooked some great food. We had hot wings, stuffed mushrooms, stuffed jalepenos, chips and queso, and vegtables and dip. It was yummy!

Yummy!!!!!
