Getting Back in the Swing

We have completed our first week of being back at school. We had a great week, but it has sure been an adjustment to sleeping in and taking naps. Sadie has started back to her school too and is doing good. She is just a little more tired at night, but that sure does make bedtime easy. Gabe and I are so blessed to have such great jobs and we are so thankful for our summers we have to all be together. As my ever optimistic husband said, "Only 35 more weeks to go and it will be summer again!"

Sadie had a little bit of trouble adjusting to getting up early. The first day of school we woke her up and she went right back to sleep on Gabe's shoulder.
Gettin going

Just a few pictures from our last days of summer.

Sadie is in love with balloons right now. She takes them for rides in the laundry basket and was watching her TV shows with the balloon right next to her. She calls them, "Boos."

Playing in the backyard.

Our Dallas Vacation

Gabe and I decided that we wanted to go somewhere for a few days at the end of the summer before we headed back to school. We thought about going to the beach, but the drive was just longer than I wanted to do and we couldn't really find anywhere to stay. We decided on going to Dallas where we would be able to do more things and the drive was much shorter. We were going to go to the water park, but it rained at some point everyday that we were there. We took Sadie to the Aquarium and to the Children's Museum. The rest of the time we spent swimming in the hotel pool, eating good food, and a little shopping. It was a great time to be together as a family and a just the relaxing time we needed.
Here we are with the flamingos at the aquarium. They were Sadie's favorite.

Waiting for the IMAX movie to start. Sadie loved seeing all the fish.

Sadie is looking at some fish at the aquarium. It was a cloudy day and difficult to get any good pictures.

Digging for artifacts.

Gabe and Sadie driving the fire truck.

Sadie loved the water station with the giant rubber duckies. Gabe said it looks like she is wearing a baptismal gown and baptising the duck.

Sadie loved the elevator at the hotel. She had fun just riding on it everyday, trying to jump, and running out when it stopped.

It's a girl!

We're excited to let everyone know that Claire Hope Gillespie will be arriving in December. The ultrasound was today and everything looks great. We are super excited. I know ultrasound pictures are sometimes only cute to parents and grandparents, but I hope you enjoy a sneak peak at our Claire!

A profile shot with her hand in front of her face!

Once again, hand in front of the face, but so sweet.

Finally, a big smile for the camera. We think she has the Gillespie nose just like Sadie.

Summer Fun!

I have fallen pretty far behind in my blogging so in an effort to catch up I decided to post some of my favorite pictures over the last month or so. We have been busy with our trip to Savannah for Josh and Brianna's wedding, catching up at home, grandparents visiting, and we took a family trip to Dallas for a few days. It's hard to believe summer is ending, but it's time to get back to it and get ready for the new baby. We have loved our summer with all of us being together. There is nothing better. Sadie is at such a fun age and saying so much fun stuff. Just today she started having conversations on her play phone. She won't tell us who she is talking to, but she is busy talking. Anyway, here are a few pictures. I haven't posted any from Dallas, that is still to come.

Sadie is showing me her mosquito bite. Those little things love her.

Her favorite swing at the park. She would stay in it all day long. Unfortunately, it doesn't swing automatically. Daddy is great at it though!

Sadie has a done a lot of swimming. Here she is, ready to go.

Trying on Mama's shoes. I just love it!

On to Savannah. Sadie's favorite thing to do while we were there was walk the dogs with Big Daddy. They didn't exactly like being walked by her. After a couple times, Chloe would just sit down in the middle of the road because Sadie wasn't walking fast enough for her. Sadie didn't mind though as long as she had the leash and was outside with Big Daddy, all was well.

Sadie in the airport on our way home from Savannah. Gabe loaded some cartoons on an Ipod and it kept her entertained for a while. Luckily the trip home was pretty smooth with just one delay. Not like Gabe's trip out there with Sadie by himself. It took him 14 hours and MANY delays, but he made it. He has told me many times that he does not want to do it again.

We went to the beach while we were there and Sadie loved it. She loves water!

At the wedding reception. Sadie in her flower girl dress. I don't have a lot of pictures since I was busy doing wedding stuff. I'm working on getting more. She loved dancing at the reception.

Me and Gabe at the wedding. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful wedding. Gabe did a great job "officiating." He doesn't like to say that he "preached the wedding." I don't really know what else to call it. I was so relieved at this point that Sadie walked down the aisle, but so ready to be able to breath again. The dress was a little difficult for me since we ordered it before I was pregnant, but I survived and Brianna and Josh were a beautiful couple. I'm so grateful we were able to be there and be a part of it. Again, no pictures of them, I'll hopefully have some soon.

Sadie-running from the wave. Who's that headless hunk behind her????
