Our First Family Car!

Well, we have purchased our first family car! We decided a couple months ago that we needed to start looking for a new car. Gabe's truck was getting really old and my Saturn is still a good car, but not as reliable as we would like. We started shopping around, but nothing really serious. I told Gabe that I just didn't want it to be stressful or a big deal. Yesterday, we got off work a little early so we decided to go look at a few lots and see if we saw anything. We found a 2007 Honda CRV in great condition, low miles, and a decent price. It seemed to be what we were looking for. Everything just kind of fell into place. (Once again, I shouldn't be surprised, but always am.) Gabe was even able to take care of running it by our mechanic and handling most of the paperwork while I was finishing up some stuff at school. He's the best. So we are super excited about starting our summer with a new, reliable, roomy vehicle.

The Garden Keeps Growing!

Another update on the garden... It really is growing and growing and growing. We have baby tomatoes, bell peppers, and jalapenos now and the squash and zuchinni are looking like they could take it all over. Gabe and Sadie still faithfully water every day so we are excited to see what happens. The next step is real stuff we can actually eat. I'll keep you posted...

The tomatoes are looking good.

And all the other stuff.

This is the squash and zuchinni. It's hard to believe this came from a package of seeds.

Gabe took his gardening to the classroom. These are cucumber plants he grew with his kids and then brought home to transplant. Really, this has to be the last thing.

And one picture of Sadie. Weekly update for the grandparents :)

First Signs of Summer

Sunday was a beautiful day so we decided to spend the afternoon outside. We had bought an Elmo sprinkler thing on clearance at the end of last summer so Gabe decided to set it up for Sadie. Isn't she too cute in her swimsuit Nana sent! Anyway, she was a little unsure at first, but figured it out. I just had fun sitting and watching her.

Watching from a distance.

Cooling off.

Lovin the water!

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's day last week. We went to church and then Gabe made Me and Jenny fajitas for lunch. After we all had our naps, we planted flowers. Gabe and I planted flowers last year while Sadie slept since she was just 8 months old. I decided last year that we should make it a tradition so we planted flowers again this year, but Sadie was definitely not sleeping. She loved "helping" and especially playing in the dirt. I'm glad Gabe made us do it, because I was really glad we did in the end even though I really didn't want to when we started. Here's a couple pictures.

The planter before the flowers...

...and after! Sadie and Mama went inside shortly after this because little fingers kept digging up the flowers! Daddy stayed outside and finished planting.

The Garden is Growing

Just thought I would do a little update on our garden. I have to admit Gabe is doing a great job with it and it is actually growing! We have tomato plants, all kinds of peppers, eggplant, onions, squash, zuchinni, strawberries, and various herbs. I'm excited about all the vegtables we will have this summer. Sadie absolutely LOVES the garden, definitely more than I do, maybe more than Gabe, but that would be difficult. Gabe had a stressful day at work yesterday and last night he said, "I'm going to buy a plant." He came home with Basil. I'm glad school is almost out because we are running out of places to plant things.

Gabe and Sadie go outside every afternoon. She sits on his shoulders and they water all the plants together. It's super sweet!

Here's what it looks like so far.

Lots of tomatoes.

Sadie in her favorite spot.

And I just had to include one more picture. We got a new package of paper plates Saturday and she was so excited. Still don't kow what it is about the paper plates, but they have some sort of connection. :)
