More San Antonio sites

Just a few more pictures from our trip. We went to the riverwalk one day and went on a boatride and walked around the Alamo. We also did some shopping and took a few pictures at Bass Pro Shop.

The Gillespies take San Antonio

Well, it was time for our family vacation and we were all excited to go see San Antonio. We loaded up our car and left early in the morning so that the girls would hopefully sleep for a couple hours. Sadie was super excited and of course did not go back to sleep, but she was quiet till the sun came up and Claire slept, so I would say our plan worked. Sea World was top priority during the trip and Claire had even learned to say fish. It really sounds like, "ish", but we'll go with it. There are lots of water areas so the girls just stayed in their swim suits the whole time. Sea World has a great Sesame Street kids area that the girls loved. They are not too sure about characters in costumes, actually they want nothing to do with them, but we still got a couple pictures.

Here we are with who Sadie calls "The fairy princess." I think her name is Abby. We don't know our Sesame Street characters very well. Notice the forced/scared smile on Sadie's face.

And Claire...Looking at Zoe like "Don't even try to touch me." Maybe they will enjoy them more as they get older. Right now, they are good looking at them from a distance. Claire was excited to see Elmo. She called all of the characters "Melmo" and would point, but wanted to keep her distance.

Sadie's first Amusement ride. She really is on there with Gabe even though you can't see her. (Second row from the left.) And yes, Claire was whining at the gate because she couldn't go.

Another ferris wheel kind of ride. It was the only one Claire could ride. (And only one picture from the guy working the ride so of course Claire had her eyes closed.)

We did make it to most of the shows, even with a squirmy 18 month old. They both loved Shamu or as Sadie says "Shampoo."

A quick picture of Sadie with the map planning out day 2. We were fortunate to get fun passes that are good for the rest of the year so we decided to not deal with grumpy girls and go for two days.

A few other pictures from the rest of our time in San Antonio. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner once which was soooooo yummy. Check out Sadie's crazy curly hair in the humidity.

We also went to the Children's Museum. The best part was the HEB market. They had carts, food, and checkout lines. It was a lot of fun for the girls and fun for us to watch too.

There are still a few more pictures from our visit to the Riverwalk. I'll put those in a seperate post. We had a great time. Mama and Daddy came home tired, but I guess that's how it's supposed to be. Vacations sure are different with little ones, but I think they keep getting better.

Spring Break

Well, family trips are a little more complicated these days. I came to this realization many times last week, but especially when I was getting ready to blog and realized how few pictures I had of Claire. We spent a few days of spring break in Ruidoso with our friends Fred and Alisona and their son Ian. We had a great time and really enjoyed getting away. The mountains are beautiful.

Sweet Christie is Married!

We are just getting back from our annual east coast trip and this year I went a little early to have our college girls reunion. This year we were in Nashville for Christie's wedding! We had a great time and Ashley was such a great hostess. We stayed up way to late as we usually do. This is seriously the ONLY time during the year that I stay up past 11 and 3AM was unbelievable, but we all agree that the best conversations don't start before 1AM.
Christie was a beautiful bride and the wedding was just perfect. I was so blessed to be there and Christie deserves only the best. We missed having you in our conversations Christie...already looking forward to next year!

Spring Break

We've had a fun time this week being off of work and spending lots of time together. We went to Ruidoso, NM for a few days to hang out and now are just getting stuff done around the house. Just wanted to share some of our pictures.

This is Gabe's favorite picture from our trip. Sadie just enjoyed some yummy pizza and her hair got lots of staic while she was riding in the backpack. She loved it!

Feeding the ducks. Sadie LOVES ducks. She also loves eating the bread. Gabe would give a piece of bread to the ducks and then a piece of bread to Sadie. She also figured out that she likes to run down the hills on the golf course where we were staying. She got going a little too fast once and kind of did a face plant, but she recovered quicly. Just a little scrape on her forehead.

We tried to take a family shot of all three us in our green on St. Patrick's day! Sadie doesn't look too excited.

Sadie loves slides too! She especially liked the tunnel slide at the park. They had pony rides too, but she was not interested at all. Maybe in a couple years.

Reading her clifford book in the car. Doesn't she look so sweet. Just a little while earlier, she got really upset about something (can't remember what) and started screaming! A few minutes later, she threw up all over herself! It was lovely. You would think she would figure out not to get that upset, but on the way home, she got upset again and...threw up again! She has never thrown up when she has gotten upset before and she is perfectly fine after. I'm thinking she got a little car sick too. Hopefully this stage won't last long!
