This past week I went to Loveland, CO to celebrate the life of my grandmother, Katherine Joslyn. She passed away last week and our family all got together this week for her funeral. She was a great woman of God and was an example of being a servant to a lot of people. She also loved to share her faith. I learned this week that Grandma ran off to marry her husband and that her parents did not approve. My grandfather was a not a Christian when they met and she was determined to share her faith. The story goes that she would read the Bible to him so much that he would cover his head at night with a pillow to try to keep from hearing. Eventually, God got through and because of my grandmother’s faithfulness, he became a Christian. (There’s that faithfulness thing popping up again!) I also learned that my grandmother was very competitive and liked to win. She passed that on to a lot of us. I like to say we are not stubborn, but driven. My grandmother was a wonderful person who loved her family very much. She will be missed.
We were fortunate to get to spend time with each other this week and I will treasure the time that we had. I can not remember the last time that all of the six cousins were together. There was a picture in the slide show from about 20 years ago and I’m pretty sure that was the last time. I’ve learned that these times are precious and that we should not take them for granted. I also learned this week that we are family and were put together for a reason. We may not do things the same way or have the same opinions on everything, but God has given us who we have for a reason and we should be thankful.

Some of my favorites
We have had a great Christmas break. It has been so much fun doing fun things and just all of us being able to hang out together. I just wanted to post a few of my favorite pictures that we took over the break. It’s back to work Monday and Gabe’s first day at his new job. We’ve spent quite a bit of time getting his classroom ready and I know he is going to do great! How many days until Spring Break?????
Bringing in the New Year!
With a baby it is definitely more difficult to be out celebrating New Year’s Eve. This year, we were going to go to a party for a little while, but due to a couple reasons, I ended up at home putting Sadie to bed and Gabe went to the party. He had to deliver his hot wings which he informed me were a big hit. In case you didn’t know, he has become quite a good cook. He was very sweet and brought me a plate home. Sadie went to bed without problems and I watched a chick flick and talked to my parents until Gabe got home. He did come home early and we watched the ball drop with New York and I went to bed early. I heard a statistic that 40% of Americans bring in the New Year in their P.J.s. I am happy to say I was one of the 40% and very happy about it.
New Year’s day, we went with the Lamm’s to the park and then to Furr’s to eat lunch. The park was great. Sadie went down a twisty slide by herself for the first time. She had a lot of fun and came out smiling every time. Of course, she loved Furr’s too. She is quite a foody like her Daddy. We hadn’t been to Furr’s in quite a while, but it was a great place to take the babies. We could get them lots of different things and they are free until they turn 3. What a deal!
Here are a few pictures of Sadie and Lincoln playing.

Sadie and Teddy
Last weekend we were able to dog sit for Teddy. (Les and Jenny’s dog) Sadie loves him. She walks around pointing to him and saying, “Teh! Teh!” It is really cute.
Teddy just took his toy back.
And here is Sadie with Teddy's toy. They traded the toy back and forth all weekend. Sadie would finally get it and then Teddy would get it back.
Teddy just took his toy back.
One of Sadie's favorite spots to sit. Right next to Teddy while he ate dinner. This is her innocent face. She had just been caught playing in his water bowl. Just a note: I don't think dog food is poisonous. Not sure if she ate any, but as many meal times as she spend sitting here, I would be willing to bet she ate at least one piece while we weren't looking. :)
Here they are lounging and watching Tigger and Pooh. I think Teddy was pretty tired of having a shadow by the time the weekend was over.
